Education at the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens

Friends coordinate educational activities for children in the school holidays and run workshops for adults. The Gardens are also valued as a place of learning and opportunities for practical experience for vocational students of Horticulture, as well as University students undertaking studies in Environmental Science.

Botanica Quest Workshops

Explore and discover the amazing plants and animals in the Gardens with our Botanica Quest workshops.

We offer a variety of programs to engage children in nature:

  • Dare to Discover – Embark on exciting nature-based missions to uncover the secrets of the Gardens.
  • NaturePlay Missions – Fun, hands-on activities that bring kids closer to nature.
  • Kids in Conservation – Focused on helping children develop an understanding and appreciation of the natural environment.
Friends Of The GCRBG - Education - Little Nature Lovers

Little Nature Lovers

A special program for our youngest nature enthusiasts!

Little Nature Lovers is designed for preschoolers and their carers, offering fun and educational activities to learn about the environment.

  • When: Every third Thursday of the month (10:00am – 11:00am)
  • Where: Rotary Education Pavilion on the Mangrove to Mountains Walk
  • Cost: Free (Bookings essential)

Botanic Gardens Education Program

The Botanic Gardens Education Program offers hands-on, outdoor learning experiences that align with the National School Curriculum in Science, History, and Geography. This program is designed to inspire curiosity and a deep connection to the environment, catering to students from Prep through to Grade 12.
