Volunteer Gardeners & The NurseryAssist Botanic Gardens staff with gardening duties including pruning, mulching and planting. Also assist with co-ordination of community planting events. Volunteers meet every Wednesday 6:30 – 8:30am Oct – Mar; 7:30 – 9:30am Apr - Sep. Friends Nursery volunteers propagate regional plants for the Gardens, and to raise funds through plant sales. Volunteers meet every Friday from 7a.m at the Nursery.
Volunteer Guides & PresentationsProvide free regular guided walks and tours to help visitors experience the Gardens. Specialist group tours can be organised for a small fee. Walks are available on 1st Sunday and 3rd Wednesday of the month starting at the Friends Centre. Speakers with knowledge about the Gardens can be organised for outside community groups. A small fee is charged for private group tours and presentations.
Children’s ActivitiesFriends present ‘Botanica Quest’ and 'Kids in Conservation’ for 4-14 year-olds during school holidays. Children can experience nature based displays at the Friends Centre.
